This work is an essay on superposition and space.

Trusting that if the materials were well chosen and the choreography well done, the sound result will be satisfactory. Cover art is perhaps a good example of overlapping: it is the result of three superimposed paintings by the North American painter Philip Guston: Zone 1953, Untitled 1954, Painting 1954.

These paintings inspired me deeply when composing the album. The parallelism is total, one piece per painting, and for the final piece I worked with the direct superposition of the previous three. The idea was to soundly “translate” the cover image and at the same time generate a nod to the work of master Gerardo Gandini, "Eusebius".

About space, what if the microphone was NOT just a device for capturing audio? I would like us to imagine the microphone as an Avatar that allows us to broaden our listening and perception of the room. Being able to listen Up – Down – Right – Left – Back – Forward emptied of judgment and preconceptions. In this work I set out to import these ideas into music, push my own limits in relation to space and sound. Represent the place from listening.

It is in this sense that the parameters that govern this work are not Harmony - Rhythm - Melody - Counterpoint, but Up - Down - Left - Right - Back - Forward, finally, in an almost magical way, the "chance" of superposition took care that the old musical parameters make sense.

Esta obra es un ensayo sobre la superposición y el espacio. Confiando en que si los materiales estuvieron bien elegidos y las coreografías bien realizadas el resultado sonoro será satisfactorio. Quizás, sobre la superposición, el arte de tapa sea un buen ejemplo: es el resultado de tres cuadros del pintor norteamericano Philip Guston superpuestos: Zone 1953, Untitled 1954, Painting 1954.

Estos cuadros me inspiraron profundamente a la hora de componer el disco. El paralelismo es total, una pieza por pintura, y para la pieza final trabajé con la superposición directa de las tres anteriores. La idea fue “traducir” sonoramente la imagen de tapa y al mismo tiempo generar un guiño a la obra del maestro Gerardo Gandini.

Sobre el espacio, ¿Qué pasaría si el micrófono NO fuera sólo un dispositivo para captar audio? Me gustaría que imaginemos al micrófono como un Avatar que nos permite ampliar la escucha y la percepción de la habitación. Poder escuchar Arriba – Abajo – Derecha – Izquierda – Atrás – Adelante vaciados de juicio y preconceptos. Como cuando en la escritura se modifica sólo una letra - algo imposible en la música - y esta acción cambia el rol. Pasar de la tercera a la primera persona del singular: volvernos seres de escucha activa.

En este trabajo me propuse importar estas ideas a la música, correr mis propios límites en relación al espacio y al sonido. Representar al lugar a partir de la escucha. Es en ese sentido que los parámetros que rigen a esta obra no son Armonía – Ritmo – Melodía – Contrapunto, sino Arriba – Abajo – Izquierda – Derecha – Atrás – Adelante, finalmente, de manera casi mágica el azar de la superposición se ocupó de que los antiguos parámetros musicales cobren sentido.
